Govinda's Statement of Purpose

GOVINDA'S is operated on a non-profit basis by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). ISKCON also operates the Hare Krishna Food for Life program, which to date has served over 100 million free vegetarian/vegan meals in over 60 countries. Our goal is to offer a healthy, nutritious and wholesome alternative at an affordable price to everyone in our community. This is served in a friendly, peaceful, relaxed, smoke and alcohol free environment. All dishes are prepared with care and love, using the freshest ingredients and local produce as much as possible.

GOVINDA'S is an “All You Can Eat” hot and cold buffet. Although the selection is not very extensive, careful attention is given to ensure a good variety and well-balanced meal daily. We encourage you to take as much as you can eat. Please help us avoid anything going to waste. This will help minimize our costs as well as the burden on the earth's resources.

GOVINDA'S offers food for the body, mind and spirit. To this end we also carry books and tapes on Karma, Reincarnation, Vegetarianism, Yoga, etc. We hope you enjoy your visit and will return, maybe even share the experience with your friends or family. If you enjoy the experience please tell us.

GOVINDA'S is Ottawa's first and oldest vegetarian establishment, since 1981. We are committed to this program. We count on your generosity and support to continue providing this service.

Our Sincere Thanks!
